The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing education from preschool to grade 6. The foundation for the education is the Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the primary school's governing documents and from the Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the school. Participate in additional work at the leisure home together with staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have a teaching license for teachers in leisure homes. You must be proficient in Sámi, both orally and in writing. You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.

You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to the needs of students, and you enjoy working with children and youth.
